During 2019 I made two trips to northern Swedish lapland. At the end of June I walked south into the mountains from Abisko into a valley called Nissonvagge. At 900 m the earlier spring flowers were in bloom, while higher up small arctic plants pushed their way through the ice. At 1200m it was still winter.
At the beginning of September I returned to Abisko. This time I walked west into Kårsavagge. The leaves of the Mountain birch were turning yellow while higher up the Dwarf birch was already red.
I filmed and photographed. Occasionally I was in a series of photographs – sometime almost as a part of the rock.
The work from the two valleys resulted in a 20 minute film.
